Cask & Crew Unveils New Flavor: Orange Roasted
Cask & Crew Whiskey has introduced a new flavor: Orange Roasted. It’s the third infused flavor in the Cask & Crew whiskey portfolio joining the award-winning ranks of Walnut Toffee and Ginger Spice.
At its official industry unveiling at the 2018 WSWA Annual Convention, Cask & Crew Orange Roasted Whiskey won a prestigious Double Gold Medal.
Joe Ragazzo, Vice President of Sales for ROC HOUSE BRANDS, said they conducted significant research before deciding on orange. “We looked at 80 cocktail menus from popular cocktail bars in major metropolitan cities throughout the country and discovered that orange and orange bitters ranked third among the most common ingredients included in cocktails with a Rye spirit base,” explained Ragazzo.
Even with mixologists developing an endless array of new cocktails, the combination of orange and whiskey has withstood the test of time — it’s a pairing bartenders and patrons alike widely recognize and revel in. Confident that they had the right flavor, the distillers at Cask & Crew got to work to develop a new spirit that was both whiskey forward and approachable.
Orange Roasted is born from Cask & Crew’s classic base: a blend of 51% three-year Canadian Rye and 49% three-year oak barrel-aged Kentucky corn whiskey that features a smooth and well-balanced flavor blend. The new Orange Roasted infused with natural ingredients finishes in a semi-sweet orange peel and a hint of roasted coffee flavor profile.
Cask & Crew refers to its flavored whiskey as: “whiskey corrected.” Not that they need correcting- the word communicates the infusion of flavors that unite, yet respect, the whiskey’s blend of rye and corn.
Priced at $25 for 750 ML bottles, Cask & Crew is currently available in 24 states. They will be introducing the Orange Roasted in July in NY, NJ, CT, MD, DE, DC, FL, GA with the balance of markets to follow throughout the summer.
“In just one year, the trio of Cask & Crew Rye Whiskey Blend, Cask & Crew Walnut Toffee Whiskey and Cask & Crew Ginger Spice Whiskey depleted over 13,000 cases. “Our growth plan for Cask & Crew is aggressive,” explained Ragazzo. “With Orange Roasted joining the family, we expect further market expansion and an increase in sales.”
