Cask & Crew Ginger’s Island Cocktail
It’s the age old question asked by ‘Gilligan’ fans – Mary Ann or Ginger? Our crew members always choose Ginger! Her spicy personality was the inspiration for this cocktail, Ginger’s Island. The perfect blend of sweet and spicy, our Ginger’s Island cocktail features Cask & Crew Ginger Spice Whiskey, ginger ale, and ice cubes made out of ginger beer, orange zest, and fresh cut ginger.
- 1 Orange, zested
- 1 Small Hand of Ginger (approx. 4” – 5” section), peeled, sliced, & cut into thin matchsticks
- 1 Can Ginger Beer
- 3 Shots Cask & Crew Ginger Spice Whiskey
- 18 oz. Ginger Ale
Zest an orange using a microplane into the bottom of a clean ice cube tray. Peel the ginger (the easiest way is by using a teaspoon), slice it, then cut into thin matchsticks that will fit into the ice cube tray. Sprinkle the ginger slices evenly into each of the ice cube sections.
Pour ginger beer into each of the ice cube sections, filling to the top. Freeze the ice cubes until fully set, about 4-6 hours.
To Make 1 Drink:
Rub a fresh strip of orange rind along the edge of the glass. Portion 3 of the ginger beer ice cubes into a rocks/drink glass. Pour 1 shot of Cask & Crew Ginger Spice Whiskey on top of the ice cubes. Fill the rest of the glass with ginger ale.
