Cask & Crew Bacon Mac and Cheese

Cask & Crew’s Bacon Mac and Cheese proves you can’t go wrong with whiskey and bacon. This recipe combines sweet Cask & Crew candied bacon with a creamy Cask & Crew cheese sauce. Perfect for any occasion, this dish is sure to become a crew must have. Try it with your favorite Cask & Crew flavor!


Whiskey Candied Bacon


  • 1 pound macaroni pasta
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Cask & Crew Blended Rye Whiskey
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 cups medium or sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Candied Bacon:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil and coat with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring ½ cup Cask & Crew to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, and simmer until reduced to 2 tablespoons. Remove from heat. On a plate, combine brown sugar and cayenne. Dip bacon into Cask & Crew and then press each side into brown sugar mixture to coat. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 7 minutes, then flip and bake for about 5 minutes. Watch the bacon so it doesn’t burn!! (The sugar will run all over the pan, and the bacon with have a shiny lacquered look.)
  4. Remove the bacon to a plate coated with non-stick cooking spray to cool completely. Chop bacon; set aside.


  1. Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add macaroni and cook until al dente. Drain pasta; set aside.
  2. While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat. Add flour, and whisk to combine. {You will have a very tight roux.} Add 1 tablespoon Cask & Crew and whisk into roux. Whisk in 1 cup milk until combined. Add remaining milk. Whisk frequently until sauce thickens and begins to bubble. Add cheeses; whisk until cheeses melt and sauce is smooth. Add paprika and salt and pepper to taste. Pour sauce over pasta, and add bacon. Stir until pasta is completely coated in sauce. Add more salt and pepper if desired.

Cask & Crew Cocktail WSWA People's Choice Award

Cask & Crew Whiskey recently had the opportunity to participate in the WSWA Convention’s Call for Cocktails Mixology Competition. We were one of 12 finalist selected out of over 100 cocktails!

Our crew member Marco Baroli of Cibo Wine Bar crafted our featured cocktail, Sister Smokin’ Ginger. The competition was stiff, but our craft cocktail was a crowd favorite and won the People’s Choice Award! Check out some of the pictures from the event and try out the recipe below.

Sister Smokin’ Ginger

1 ½ oz. Cask & Crew Ginger Spice Whiskey
½ oz. Cask & Crew Whiskey Straight Rye blend
1 oz fresh ginger simple syrup reduction*
¾ oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
Sprig of fresh mint
Fresh Ginger
Powdered sugar
Burnt cinnamon stick
Oak plank for smoking
*Fresh Ginger Simple Syrup Reduction: Fresh ginger reduction, cornstarch, sugar, water, cinnamon.

Instructions: Combine Cask & Crew Ginger Spice Whiskey, Cask & Crew Whiskey Straight Rye Blend, Ginger Simple Syrup Reduction and lemon juice. Shake well. Smoke mint and ginger on the oak plank. Double strain cocktail into smoked glass. Top with Prosecco and 7-UP. Grate fresh cinnamon on top

Garnish: Fresh mint, dusted with powdered sugar. Top with burnt cinnamon stick.

Located just off the island’s gorgeous waters, Lightkeepers will feature a contemporary, coastal-inspired dining room, a cool, casual indoor/outdoor bar and a beverage program featuring unique, hand-crafted cocktails.

The John W.B. Thompson Smoked Old Fashioned, named after an assistant lighthouse keeper circa 1836, is made with Cask & Crew Rye, Laphroaig Islay Scotch, Santa Teresa Rhum Orange Liqueur, orange bitters and a dehydrated orange garnish.
